Men Today
Men are taught to use logic, work hard, take action, and play hard. Today, men receive many messages that what they have learned is wrong. Men often do not have a safe place to act naturally and feel acceptance. The Men’s Group is a safe, nonjudgmental place to explore the meaning and feeling of being a man. Additionally, group members can explore the concerns they have in their lives.

The Group is for...

  • Men with changes in important relationships and /or career
  • Men who want to experience more effective communication and intimacy in their lives
  • Men experiencing difficulty with marriage, family, divorce or work relationships
  • Men with depression, loneliness, social anxiety, or low self esteem

What is a group?
The group is six to eight competent and effective men. Members are supported and challenged to explore their concerns. The counseling is solution focused so members can quickly and economically meet their individualized goals. Members are encouraged to support each other with their natural strengths and abilities.

Group Expectations
Members must agree in advance to protect the confidentiality of other members, including what is discussed in group, as well as the identity of other participants. Other responsibilities to the group include being on time for sessions, participating in the group process, and giving two weeks notice before leaving the group.

Fees
The per-session fee is $80 with one uncharged absence every calendar quarter. Other absences are charged at the regular rate. Group members are responsible for their accounts and our office staff can assist in obtaining third-party payment when it is available.

Group Schedules
There are two groups that meet weekly. One group meets on Tuesday evenings and is for men in their 20’s and 30’s. The other group meets on Thursday evenings and is for men in their late 30’s and older.
