Chad T. Lorenz, M.A.
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Chad provides individual, couples, and family therapy. Therapy with him is marked by his non-pathogenic view of the individual. Symptoms are often seen as plausible reactions given one’s frame of reference and contextual circumstances. In therapy, you’ll notice Chad saying things like “of course this is happening” and “how couldn’t you react that way” while compassionately changing the status quo. His clients consistently provide the feedback that he has a non-shaming, empowering, effective therapeutic presence.
Referring clinicians will be interested to know that Chad has received advanced family therapy training at the Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic as well as the Rape and Sexual Abuse Center in Minneapolis. He is a current doctoral candidate in psychology at the University of St. Thomas and has experience serving clients in a variety of settings with many different treatment modalities. Chad’s professional involvement consists of research on interpersonal attachment and clinical supervision as well as being an active member in various professional organizations including the American Family Therapy Academy. In his theoretical orientation, he integrates tenets of Time-Limited Dynamic Psychotherapy (TLDP), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and various systemic approaches.
